About Me

Introduction

My name is Koushiki Pal and I’m passionate about improving the lives of others through design. I’m constantly learning new things everyday and love meeting people who are motivated and unafraid of sharing their ideas with world.

I’am a self taught designer and have learnt a lot of the processes, concepts and theories of UI/UX and product design through attending workshops, reading blogs and applying these to projects in my spare time and at work. I also have completed Google UX Design Course Certification. I am very much a big-picture thinker and enjoy working on products end to end, from ideation all the way to development.

My Work Process

Better Design, Better User Experience

The design process involves following four stages.

Understand: Design solves a problem. In order to provide a solution, first I understand the problem. To analyze requirements, I follow industry standard user research methods including contextual and individual interviews, while observing the users in real environment.

Research: Research is the basic key step to design user experience. Here I explore how the outer world is working on such features. I Keep an eye on the latest UI trends, design principles and your existing user experience guidelines. While doing research, start thinking about possible layouts and options to provide the desired experience.

Wireframing & Prototyping: This stage involves UI definition of required feature. Draw paper sketches, white board flows and wireframes to share your ideas with stakeholders. This stage itself is an iterative process. Testing and evaluation of wireframes is part of this stage. Design team builds initial mockups and share with stakeholders to get their input.

Usability Testing: this last stage, the process will iterate itself and depending on the required changes, I may go to previous stages. The process goes on until the desired experience and customer satisfaction is achieved.
